¿Quién Soy?

Yamil Martínez is a specialist in delivering innovative and creative solutions that provoke, capture, and amplify the emotional essence of a musical performance. Yamil has contributed to several Grammy Award–winning projects, among others.

Yamil was the second Latino invited to join Waves Audio Artists’ select group. He is also a member of the DPA Microphones community, proudly holding the title of “DPA Master #62” worldwide. He maintains professional relationships with several manufacturers, while collaborating with ES Audio and Neutral Audio in the development of the Signature Series products.

Since 2016, Yami has been mixing the live performances of the acclaimed singer and songwriter of “Despacito,” Luis Fonsi, overseeing tours such as the Somos Uno Tour, Love & Dance World Tour, and Vida World Tour. In that space, often called “The Cathedral of Sound” or “The Caribbean Abbey Road”, Yamil serves as technical director and resident mixer/producer.

In recent years, Yamil has served as a consultant for several churches in the United States, including Church on the Rock in Missouri, City of Life in Kissimmee, Florida, and Three Crosses in the Bay Area of California.

In addition to his mixing work, Yamil is passionate about sharing knowledge and his experience in audio through videos titled “Bytacoras,” as well as by publishing Facebook Notes that cover practical and philosophical audio content. These are also republished by Musico Pro Online Magazine. During the Covid-19 lockdown, Yamil developed a TV-show-like format that is broadcast daily across his social networks.

His desire to share what he has received by the Grace of God has led Yamil to speak at events around the world. He seeks to leave his mark as a mentor, teacher, and coach by helping others in their pursuit of a better-sounding world, because:

"Sound is the vehicle for language, which is the fuel of the psychoacoustic phenomenon of Faith"
